Drive straight to Anuradhapura, which was the capital of Sri Lanka from 5 B.C. to 1017 A.D. Visit the most sacred “Bo Tree” which was shelter to the Lord Buddha during his enlightenment and where he gazed for seven weeks, can be found here. It is victorious to see that the world’s largest and oldest man-made brick building still stands, this being the Jethawanarama Pagoda.
