Gaudi's Barcelona:
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, before taking a tour of La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's masterpiece cathedral that has become iconic of the city itself. Spend some time visiting the interior of this massive structure and the spectacular play of light the vibrant stained glass
windows create on the walls and floors, before taking the elevator up to appreciate the views from the top of the spires.
After lunch, take a stroll down the Passieg de Gracia, one of Barcelona's largest avenues. This picturesque, tree-lined avenue is considered to be one of the poshest addresses in the city and is just as well-known for the boutiques and luxury shops lining its streets as it is for being home to two of Gaudi's most iconic buildings – La Pedrera and Casa Batllo.
Admire the magical roofline of the colorful Casa Batllo, looking much like the curving spine of a dragon or fanciful sea monster, before continuing up the avenue for some shopping or an afternoon break in one of the many cafes.
Private Tour of La Pedrera:
The most famous of Gaudi's residential buildings scattered throughout the city, La Pedrera was not welcomed by the city when it was first unveiled. In fact, "La Pedrera" is a nickname meaning "the quarry" given to the building by the public because, in their opinion, it resembled an open rock quarry more than an apartment building.
Learn more of the building's secrets on this private, after-hours tour where you will be granted special access to parts of the building normally kept closed to the public. At the end of your tour, toast the experience with a glass of cava as you take in the sunset from the roof terrace!
